WHY DOING A YOGA TEACHER TRAINING IN SRI LANKA?
Sri Lanka has it all. With its 1340km of gorgeous coastline with crystal clear water and fine sandy beaches, lush tropical forests, mountain ranges, exotic wildlife and a rich food culture there are very few places in the world that can beat the beauty of this country.
We are located in one of the most exclusive location of the South Coast; the Midigama Fruit Farm. A natural oasis home to over 40 different varieties of fruit trees and surrounded by nothing but nature.
There are no main roads or railway next to us which make our place incredibly quiet and without any traffic noise or pollution. Imagine overlooking at lush tropical greenery, walking barefoot on the fresh grass hearing nothing but the sounds of the birds chirping and preparing for a blissful morning meditation and an invigorating yoga practice to start the day. It is heaven.
Yet we are only 2km away from the best beach of the south. A quick and fun tuk tuk ride will take you to the bustling areas of Midigama, Weligama and Ahangama where you will find plenty of beaches, bars, restaurant and cafes to spend your time off or to give surfing a try.
MEET YOUR TEACHERS
The 200hr teacher training is taught by four of the Senses senior and lead teachers. We offer one of the the highest teacher to student ratio in Sri Lanka and not only our teachers are incredibily experienced, they also come from different background, lineages and strenghts which make this training so rich in content and skills that you will aquire for yourself and ready to teach to the world.

MARILENA - YIN & PHILOSOPHY
With over 800 hours of advanced yoga teacher training, Marilena is a Synergy Vinyasa and Yin Yoga teacher, Ayurveda Health Coach, and yoga philosophy educator who has taught internationally.
Her path into yoga was shaped by a childhood rooted in ballet. That early training still influences the way she teaches, bringing creativity, fluidity, and expression into every class.
Her Vinyasa classes blend dynamic movement with elements of Qi Gong and physiotherapy, creating a practice that is both energising and therapeutic. Alongside her love for movement, she is deeply passionate about Yin and Restorative Yoga. She believes that in a world that constantly asks us to do more, stillness is often the practice we need most. For her, some of yoga greatest lessons are found not in effort, but in learning to slow down and listen.
Drawing from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the non-dual traditions of Tantra, Marilena is passionate about making yoga philosophy practical and relevant for modern life. Her teachings help students apply these timeless principles to their way of living.
Originally from Germany, she has been living in Sri Lanka for the past four years with her husband and young daughter, continuing to deepen her practice.

GIANLUCA - YIN & PROGRAM DIRECTOR
The way Gianluca found Yoga is one of those interesting stories that shows how Yoga can change your life. While developing a passion for photography in the United States where he was offered to photograph professional Yoga teachers, he started getting curious about the practice and eventually became a Vinyasa and Yin yoga teacher in Bali in 2018. He is the co-founder of Senses, passionate about breathwork and dj-ing, he runs the Senses Breathwork Teacher Training and Ecstatic dances. In this training he will be covering Yin, Pranayama, Meditation and will be your to-go person from the on boarding process to everything that you may need on site.
